unperturbed by the joy and the madness.

So it’s been awhile. Here are some things that have happened since the last time I blogged:

D celebrated a birthday!

We hosted early Thanksgiving (what we like to call Friendsgiving) for close to 30 wonderful friends. I would show you pictures but I was so busy having fun I forgot to take them.

I got J’s report card: 2 As, 2 Bs. Not too shabby, kid.

J built a very cool robot which will be taking over the world soon.

I stayed home alone on Thanksgiving and ate Camembert, pizza and wine; it was close to 48 hours of blissful, blissful quietness, during which time I did homework and watched about 24 hours of Glee.

We participated as a family in the Ockanickon Gobbler Run/Walk – a 5k run for D (which she managed to finish in just about 45 minutes) and a 1 mile fun walk for J and me. But because I thought the walk was going to be a 5k also, I have been walking 3 miles pretty much every day for a couple weeks now. (I can make it to from my back door to my favorite local pub and back home again in under an hour.)

Oh, and last but definitely not least, the awesome folks at Tuesday; an Art Project nominated my poem “Rumpelstiltskin” for a Pushcart Prize!

All in all, a good month. Now, on to the season in which I usually say BAH! Humbug.
