I’m gearing up to start a new poetry and art project (one that combines poetry and art, yay!), one that will be collaborative. More details on that later — in the meantime, I’ve been trying to get back into the swing of writing regularly. Since NaPoMo, I haven’t written a whole lot, so I think my brain feels like I went from flood to drought.

Tonight I was using StumbleUpon to surf the internet, and I came across the website of photographer Irina Werning. Her photographs are beautiful and intriguing:

from Mi Pelo Largo Querido

She has begun a project called Back to the Future, in which she recreates old photographs using the original subjects. I am really fascinated by this project and can’t wait to see the second installment (clicking on the link delivers the message Coming Soon! June 2011). I am toying with the idea of using some of these photographs as prompts for poems, inventing a history for each of the subjects.

Go check her out – her images are lovely.
