Day 19

Wikipedia, my dearest friend. Thank you for this wonderful information about ducking.

Rachel’s Day 19 Poem: Love Letter to Jenny Pipes Morris, the last woman to be ducked
Someone Else’s Poem: Edna St. Vincent Millay’s “Witch-Wife”

Tomorrow I return to work after 5 days off. I’m kind of stressed about that.

I got this postcard in the mail recently.

It made me laugh and I loved it.

A new collaboration project is in the works; details forthcoming.

    1. I was browsing Wikipedia using the “Random Article” button. I hit on cobblestones, which led me to Rothenburg (a town in Germany I visited once) which led to me to a photograph of a ducking stool that’s on display at the Criminal Museum in the town, which led me to the page on ducking, which mentioned Jenny Pipes.

      The internet is absurdly wonderful.
I also found the webpage and Facebook page of the Jenny Pipes Morris Dance Side, named in honor of this particular woman. http://www.jennypipes.org.uk/ Craziness.
