merry christmas to you!

So on Tuesday night, as I was settling in to wrap presents, I did this:
(that’s my foot, btw. Left foot. Broken tibia and fibula.)
After a few hours in the ER, some good pain killers, and a little manipulation by the Nurse Practitioner, it looked like this:

She did a fairly good job of getting everything back in the right place. However, the orthopedic doctor I saw yesterday decided that surgery might fix the problem for realz, so he whisked me off to the OR yesterday afternoon. A few hours later, I woke up in recovery with a plate in my leg, a huge splint-and-ace-bandage thing on my foot, and my toes sticking out like big fat sausages. HAWT. I have spent the past day and a half like this:
Awesome.
I hope your Christmas is going just as well, if not better!

  1. How the hell did you do that?! I cringed in pain looking at the X-ray. I hope you feel better and your holiday was good. Take care of yourself and I will talk to you later.

  3. Oooof, ma cherie! I guess Christmas injuries run in our (self-chosen) family. But surgery? My god!

Hope you feel better! If there’s any French delicacies that would speed your recovery, say the word and it’s yours!
