A few women-centered notes this morning:

Cara at the Curvature has a pretty awesome Open Letter to Eliot Spitzer up this morning.

Top Chef returns tonight with Season 4 based in Chicago. This season presents an even split – 8 male and 8 female contestants. This is the first time there’s been a balance since season 1 – both seasons 2 and 3 had more men than women competing for the title. Plus, season 4 has not one, not two, but three lesbians! And two of them are dating! Each other! During the show! This is going to be an interesting season. (Click here for interviews with the three lesbian contestants at AfterEllen.)

Anna has an entry up over at her blog – Major Jackson’s Recommended Intro to African-American Poetry (make sure you read the comments to the entry, which clarify some confusion around the title “African-American”). I’m pleased to see that 4 of the 10 poets Major’s recommended are women – Gwendolyn Brooks, Margaret Walker, Ai, and Elizabeth Alexander. I’d add Audre Lorde to that list as well.

Happy Wednesday!
