Well, we haven’t had one of these in a while! I do have some good poetry news, too.

The postcards for my chapbook started arriving in mailboxes this past week – so far they’ve reached California and New Jersey for sure.

(if you want to read more about the book, you can go here. If you just want to order it, which would make me very very happy, you can go here.)

One of my favorite online journals, Boxcar Poetry Review, has accepted one of my poems for publication! I submitted poems to them several times, each time receiving some encouragement from the editor to continue submitting my work, and finally received an acceptance. I got the news on Christmas Eve, too, so it was a great Christmas present for me.

I’m currently making an apppearance over at Thick With Conviction, another online journal whose editors have been hugely supportive of my work. They started a new feature called “10 Questions With…” and invited me to kick off the series. I think my questions-and-answers will be up there for the rest of this month.

I have a reading coming up next month at the Barron Arts Center – I’ll be appearing with Juditha Dowd, another fantastic New Jersey poet, on February 13.

I was awarded the Jan-Ai Scholarship for Peter Murphy’s Poetry & Prose Winter Getaway. This means I’ll be heading to Cape May over Martin Luther King Day weekend for 3 and a half days of writing time – and the scholarship fund pays for it all!
